About Me

Paper and Pencils

I’m a mom of four who discovered that my two biggest passions – helping kids learn and watching them light up when something finally clicks – turned out to be the perfect foundation for a career in education.

My journey started in healthcare as a Registered Nurse, but I found myself drawn to education. I became a K-6 certified teacher and later earned my master’s degree in special education because I wanted to better serve all kinds of learners including those with medical needs. Over the past five years, (including two years of virtual teaching that really taught me how to connect with kids through a screen), I’ve learned that every single child has their own unique way of understanding the world.

What I love most about tutoring is getting to slow down and really focus on one child at a time. In a classroom of twenty-five plus students, there’s only so much individual attention you can give. But in tutoring? That’s where the magic happens. I get to meet your child exactly where they are, celebrate their strengths, and gently work through the tricky spots without the pressure of keeping up with a whole class.

I’m patient, I’m kind, and I love finding creative ways to help concepts stick. Whether your child needs to catch up, stay on track, or get ahead, I’m here to help them build confidence and enjoy learning again.

Located right here in Fairfax, I offer tutoring sessions in my home for families in Lorton, Burke, and Springfield, or we can connect virtually if that works better for your schedule. Either way, my goal is simple: help your child feel successful and excited about learning.
